We will be celebrating our 100th day of school this Monday!
It is hard to believe we have been together 100 days. Time is
flying by! On Monday, we will count, cheer and make a creation
with 100 items! I sent the children home on Friday with a few
sticky notes. I was hoping the children were going to be
detectives at home and figure out if they have 100 of an item.
They do not need to bring in the items to school.
Olympic Fun
We had a great time in the gym trying the curling set. Some of these friends were naturals. Hope you are enjoying watching these games! These athletes are inspiring!
We finished up our Love Goblins last week. We will be “feeding” them some Valentines on Friday. If your child is distributing valentines, please make sure everyone is included. You can easily make a set if you do not want to purchase some. I am happy to send some paper home if you need some if you are interested in making themI sent home a list of the children’s names.
Please send in a reusable grocery bag on Friday
so your child can take home his/her Valentine
Goblin and his/her cards. They will be excited
to share with you that evening!
Report Cards
The report cards will be available this week in the parent portal.
This report will provide an evaluation of your child's achievement
of the grade 1 curriculum expectations from September to February.
report card will be different from the Progress Report and will have
letter marks for each subject. Please try to focus on the Learning
Skills and Work Habits.
B's are Beautiful!
Children have been working very hard and I am so proud of all of their
learning. They have all made progress since the beginning of the school
year. As I mentioned at Meet the Teacher night back in the fall, B's
are beautiful! This means that your child is at the provincial standard.
He/She is meeting expectations. Some of the children are not there
yet! We will continue to work on these expectations. For a child to
receive marks in the A range, he/she would have exceeded expectations
consistently at his/her grade level. As parents we want our children
to be as successful as they can. Please continue to acknowledge your
child's effort instead of focusing on the mark.
